We shouldn't put them down, but we should let them put each other down. Why not just streamline the appeals process and put them down in a faster more cost effective way?
Convicts use to be removed from the living in a matter of weeks and no one seemed to think it was inhumane or unconstitutional. Personally I'd like to see every prison in the US put on lockdown and for poison gas be sent through the ventilation systems. The savings would be enormous and the crime rate would drop to a fraction of its current levels over night. Around 75% of all crimes in this country are committed by repeat offenders. That can't happen if the entire prison population is relocated to Hell.
