A review:
My reply to Buck began with:
"If that is true....

alcaray's reply to my post was one sentence:

"The number that we know of is a good deal smaller than the total number."

My reply to this, was I made no claim of knowing what the number was & if you wish to refine the number further, than why don't give some reference that supports your assertion that the number of innocent people executed in the US in last Century was higher than 45.

As for not challenging Buck. Buck said: "I read a number of years ago that the proven executions of innocents in the US in the 20th Century is (approximately) 45 people."

I accepted that the number could have been a correctly recalled by Buck but even if recalled correctly the source he was recalling could be wrong.
This is why I started my post with: If that is true.....
Now obviously, if the number was not even close to being true, I might have different view about it. But for purpose discussion I'm assuming "45" is roughly accurate.

Now, when you say we know the true number is higher, it seems to me to be fairly reasonable to ask on what basis you claiming this.
