On Dec 11, my Vista system sank to it's (as yet) lowest reliability level, 3.5 out of a possible 10...so I'm torn, because it's the endless stream of silent updates coming from MS that have dragged my computer to this lowly state. Yet sadly, short of migrating to Linux, it's yet another update (in the form of SP2) that'll be tasked with whipping things back into shape. Talk about yer Catch-22s.
So yeah, I'll probably get the dang thing, and sooner rather than later since--historically--it's been a better idea to run fully-updated systems than the alternative. But if you hear bitter cries of anguish coming from my general direction, you'll know that the lessons of history are, in this case, more of a rough guide than a hard-n-fast rule.
