re: Reforming the violent with violence

"Is it possible that a few well placed atomic explosions around the world would bring about peace for all time?

An extension of the Wolfowitz doctrine. The problem is, we were charged with the rebuilding of Japan after the war. We can't cover the cost of mopping up- It's bad enough with Iraq.

"It can be argued that our nation was designed to free others from oppression when we are able to - and we are now more than able to. Others feel free to oppress, kill and persecute. America is needed to counter these folks and restore freedom to the masses of the world.
"

It's up to the oppressed to fight for their freedom. Obviously we can't do it for them. Do you remember how many AK 47's Saddam gave to his people to fight us? How many were turned against Saddam?

Assisting a people in their struggle against oppression and aggression, like that of WWI and II, is a proper application of "violence".

" There are those who want to blur that difference and make all violence equal. "

Unfortunately it is our nation that has blurred your difference.

(Thanks a lot Tech1, you're making me look like a liberal.)
