Let's have a go at your analogy, shall we?

You wonder why Arrell attacks what he considers anomalists here and not just go to his local New-Age Mall and have at it with a two-by-four. That's because he doesn't go into places like that. I'll bet he crosses to the other side of the street to avoid a bookstore emitting incense odor. He can tell from the front of the store what is there - the name, the display in the window: they describe the place as a harbor of what he'd consider un-scientific. He choses not to go there.

The Habitable Zone has a store front, but the regulars never go through it any more. They use the back door or climb through windows. Here's the front door in case you have forgotten.

Now on that front door there is a sign:

The Habitablezone exists to serve the
interests of the space community, to
put Space enthusiasts in contact
with each other and the people
who are making an impact on
our journey to the stars.
For engineers, reporters,
authors, rocket scientists,
planetary scientist, geologists,
students and for all.

Habitablezone is moderated
and free of anomalism,
pseudoscience and advertisements.
It is here to educate, and
facilitate communication. Please
enjoy your stay at one of the more
habitable corners of the Internet.

Arrell takes that sign on the door very seriously.

In a way, isn't it you that is going into the science store and raising a ruckus, despite what the sign on the front door says?
