A basic part of the model is what psychologists have found to be an "enhanced threat perception".
Which is to say, a right wing authoritarian is recognizable by being a little too aware of threats.
Publishing lists of threats like The Big List is one of the rituals that binds like-minded people. McCarthy held in his hand a list of commie infiltrators, conservatives have published countless books listing "The Liberals Destroying America!", various enemies lists, blacklists, lists of all kinds of threats. "Threat porn" might be a good name for that genre.
When it comes to awareness, it's possible to have too much of a good thing.
