re: As always, you miss the point
"And guess what? The only places in the world today in rich countries where you have rising wages and declining inequality are places that have generated more jobs than rich countries because they made a commitment we didn't. They got serious about a clean, efficient, green, independent energy future…"
This is crap. Nobody can point to a single "rich" nation meeting these economic criteria and say that the reason is because of green industries. The energy independence of France comes from nuclear reactors. The energy independence of much of the rest of Europe comes out of the North Sea.
Just as an aside, China, touted as an economic powerhouse right now, has been taking the largest, greasiest dump on the environment of almost any nation on the planet.
A lot of what Clinton says is just pulled out of his hind end. Most people have just gotten worn out pointing it out.
Green technologies will eventually make a lot of people a lot of money, and result in jobs and economic growth.
But it's going to take time, and governments coming in with their ignorance, their politically-motivated laws and subsidies, and their ham-handed interference, aren't going to help very much. The results of that kind of thing tend to be things like the Great Synfuel boondoggle, and the current heavily-subsidized and inefficient corn ethanol industry.
