I'm very far from being a conservative

And I enjoyed the show. However, I had to quit watching because it was just too damned intense for me. I can only do so much sitting on the edge of my chair before I fall out of it.

As for the torture, I think that's all a crock of crap somebody's made up to excuse why the ratings are falling. They're falling because the story-lines are old and tired. I don't watch but I catch a glimpse now and then and follow some of the story-lines.

When Jack was torturing a terrorist to find information he needed to prevent a nuke going off, I was sitting there yelling, "Right on!" Because I KNOW it's a story. No one is actually being tortured. If there were a situation like that, would I excuse actual torture? Maybe. But I don't want anyone given carte blanche. They'd have to understand that if they made the wrong judgment, their life and career would be on the line. So it would have to be worth it to break the law.
