In some ancient cultures, Venus is represented with horns

I wonder if they could see Venus in crescent phase and represented them
with the curved horns of a bull?

I have seen Venus in crescent phase with my 7x50 binoculars, during the
last total lunar eclipse. Another one is coming up on Feb. 20, BTW.
