For even those that looked up and may have discovered them. The key here is 'studied'. Having these celestial objects studied, tracked and recorded was not in the minds of even those everyday folks. The 'study' (track and record) concept was only used and done by a few... Kepler, Galileo...
Even as to those that looked up then, some of us here would like to have more time to study them as well. ;)
