Or narrate the entire story form the eyes of Bonso. Make the closing scene of of the first movie his death. Then tell the second part of the story through Dink or Petra or some other perspective of one of the older kids at the asteroid-colony where the book is finished..

That would bring the whole of Ender out. Inevitably his plight would be seen sympathetically, but you would also watch him destroy the lives of those around him and be able to appreciate the double-edged nature of his character. Even the book, when told almost exclusively from Enders perspective, does not effectively show Ender as a brutal force cutting a swath of misery across his personal universe, and then eventually across the galaxy. Instead, Card tries to bring that out in the later books, and it generally fails and comes across as just revisionist history written by a humanity wracked with survivors guilt.
