If you want to point out that a Communist of full of crap, you are perfectly free to do so. But you can't expect us to believe he is full of crap just because he is a Communist. Does this point of view imply Communists can't be trusted to get anything right? That they can't paint pictures or write poetry or command armies or operate spacecraft or love their kids?

If you want to make a point that Communists have a skewed view of economics that often leads them into error, fine. You're probably even right. But your knee-jerk reaction is equivalent to their saying that Capitalism must be wrong because economic history reveals depressions occuring on a periodic basis (for purely systemic reasons) since the middle ages.

It's just like the global warming debate. Are you challenging the data because you think its wrong? Or just because you don''t like who its coming from or what the consequences might be if it's not wrong?

As for doom and gloom predictions, they are not restricted to Reds. There's a cottage industry grinding out books by Capitalist economists predicting the end of the world, too.
