A lot of this kind of discussion is like working with my feet in buckets of cement. I'm asked to deal with these subjects without bringing political ideology into it, when political ideology is already deeply woven into every last part of the subject.
This is especially true of climate change, which stopped being mostly about science quite a while ago. I watched the U.N. make the particular piece of sausage called the IPCC. It wasn't pretty.
