Interesting seeing what they managed in Nevada. Must have emboldened them here. Calling them Cattle barons is right on. I'm sure the Feds are exercising restraint like they did in Nevada. They don't want another Ruby Ridge. At the same time they can't back off again or the problem gets worse. Not an easy situation.
I'm curious what gets people into these situations. I listen to the rhetoric every day I come into work. Impeach Obama is usually invoked over morning coffee and returned to at lunch conversation. Its a far cry from actual action though.
What gets a guy to hole up in the woods or take over a building? From what I can tell its not religion or a cult like the Branch Davidians. Randy Weaver did get a bit involved in the local neo-nazi movement, but I'm not sure how into it he really was. These Bundy guys don't seem to have either of those markers at first glance, but I haven't done much digging. I would not be surprised if Bo Gritz isn't involved at least peripherally.
