He figured out punctuation and marginally conventional (if not correct) use of the parenthetical clause about a year before you arrived. Before that, we were working on him learning about paragraphs.
In a few more years, if we're not all drowning in refugees form the coast, maybe we can walk him through the data and get a reasonable response. Until then, its going to be more 'article of the week' forwarded off some 'stupid greens!' mailing list.
