A half century of scientific research, not to mention widespread use by almost the entire population, demonstrates that, without a doubt, hemp is nothing but a benign weed. The fact that the authorities continue their crusade to stamp it out and persecute its users in the face of this evidence and the misery they inflict on its partisans, is incontrovertible evidence of their inability to admit a mistake, and their willingness to ruin as many lives as it takes to cover it up. It's not the herb they despise, it is those who do not accept their lies.
