F-117A not a Fighter, never was...
Late 1970's technology penetration strike bomber, originally intended to take out Soviet C3 facilities, in the war we thankfully did not have to fight.
I love the F-117A, but it is a slow, clumsy dog of an airplane.
Good at what it was designed for, but now outmoded by the modern US stealth warplanes. F-22 and F-35.
Both of these aircraft actually are "Fighters" unlike the F-117A.
Both are significantly more stealthy than the F-117A, carry more ordnance, and out maneuver any other air superiority aircraft, including all the Su's, & Mig's, Euro-Fighter, Rafale, etc..
These are out in the open, broad daylight programs.
