DKOS folks live eat and breathe politics and goose-step in sync on the left side of the aisle. If the idea of having your fundamental beliefs challenged is unappealing, that's your best "home" - the site is designed to quickly lock out those who oppose the hard left mind-cluster. "Internal diversity" can also be found in the Klan and among all groups of fanatics with a cause anywhere. Some folks like sheets with under 400 thread counts and others like them over.

If you feel a burning need to have a "personal impact on our country" - the HZ or DKOS are poor alternatives to actual service to your community or country. Trying to sway other's beliefs and views can become just another escape mechanism, redirecting one's attention from other aspects of one's life.

Look for your motives behind the escape mechanism of "personal impact" and address those and such burning needs will take care of themselves. DKOS and such places are filled to overflowing with dysfunctional mentalities whose lives are troubled and DKOS provides them with a convenient escape mechanism. Sites like that, whether conservative or liberal are a revolving door for very unhappy people.

If you find yourself at home there, you are probably very unhappy as well. I'd suggest looking and addressing the root causes of that unhappiness first and then, and only then, is one truly able to make a difference for others.

Those who seek applause and affirmation are truly in need of personal insight. They cluster in such sites where such affirmation and applause are a nonstop gravy train for wounded psyches.

Our society and debased culture make the accomplishment based on quantity rather than content. If a Youtube video get 1 million hits it must be better than one which is viewed only by 126 people. Yet the million hit one may just be a "snuff film" car crash video while the 126 clip shows something really unique, insightful and inspiring.

"Celebrity" is, by itself, absolutely meaningless. Hinckley is a celebrity. So is Osama bin Laden. So are Britney Spears and her sister "celebrities." Porn stars are also celebrities and porn sites account for almost all traffic and searches on the web.

Quantity means squat.

When it comes to audiences and web-comrades, PLEASE give me those 126 quality people who seek out something better over the million who want to see someone die or some other banal thing any day of the year.

You've been on DKOS for quite awhile now, but are still visiting here? Why? I'll tell you why... because being just one of a gogol folks who think almost completely alike politically is no fun at all. What's worse is knowing that the site is a protected site - like a gated community for frightened seniors who have given up on life - you suddenly realize it IS one great big CJ and you are just another insignificant part of the circle who will never meet a REAL opposing view while you're there.
