Biblical or historical?

Hi Guys

Bruce Masse tracked back different clues to conclude an impact in the Indian Ocean caused the Noachic Flood in 2807 BC. But he followed the Sumerian/Babylonian/Assyrian text of the tale which has only 7 days of rain. How to reconcile tha that with the Hebrew tale that lasts just over a year?

Robert Best wrote a book about Noah and proposed that the Ark was washed into the Persian Gulf and it drifted out of sight of land for about a year before grounding in Bahrain (arguably the ancient land of Dilmun.) That would explain the brief rain, and a long time afloat. Best dated the Flood to c.2900 BC based on Noah/Utnapishtim/Ziusudra being called the King of Shurrupak, which suffered a flood radiocarbon dated to c.2900 BC. There's always a certain amount of wiggle-room with such dates, so the two dates are perhaps one and the same.
