The Left has spend almost eight solid years trying to destroy Bush, working through the media, through the pundits, through Congressional investigation (increased since 2007), through the legal process, and through television, movies, and books.
(This book, from what I've heard about it, actually falls pretty low on the anti-Bush scale by comparison.)
None of it got anywhere. Why? Liberals threw everything they had into the mix, including pretty much everything being regurgitated now, and still lost the election in 2004. Why?
Given that polls usually show the "True Bush Fans" number somewhere in the low 20 percent range, the obvious conclusion is that are a lot of other people in this country who aren't Bush fans, but aren't in the "deranged" column either. In short, it's about more than just the far Right.
Good luck trying to ride "Bush sucks" into 2008. Although maybe some people can't help it after all these years--there's nothing else there. Kind of like the mental equivalent of an impacted bowel.
I suspect that a lot of the publicity right now is an attempt to distract the news audience from some things going on that will be a lot more critical in 2009 and beyond than Bush will be.
