ER, I hate to break it to you, but your couple of posts down this branch are a bit confused. On the level of sci-fi trivia, the Ferengi were a species on Star Trek, appearing first in TNG then the other series in the franchise. The bald-headed babes were Centauri from Babylon 5. Ferengi females, BTW, were not allowed to wear clothing, so I guess it all balances out.
More seriously, Lee no doubt knows that there was a controversy a long time ago about the Ferengi-as-Jews allegation, and he's just trying to stir the pot again. I couldn't tell you where the truth of the matter is, but the producers long ago rebutted the charge and the controversy died a natural death. Personally, as you can tell from my usage of them as poster boys, I'm comfortable with your interpretation of Ferengi as American businessmen. PT Barnum would've felt a deep kinship with the Ferengi.
