Politics boils down to priorities and personal value systems... There is no objectively "correct" political ideology- politics often comes down to arguments about the lesser of two evils and the greater good- the very terms 'evil' and 'good' clearly indicate that it is a conflict of value systems- not a discussion of rational and objective truths.
Science on the other hand CAN make statements about objective truth... Some claims are demonstrably wrong, and if you advocate those false positions then you are: 1) ignorant, 2) insane, or 3) lying. End of story.
What confounds me is how RobertS has no problem with heated political debate (such as calling TB cartoonish etc) on issues where there is no objectively correct answer, but when it comes to easily demonstrated objective fact he attacks and derides those defending the objective facts.
