Everybody is so self centered thses days and quick to blame but back when the shuttle was designed in 70's, it was designed as the do-all multi-purpose-vehicle-and-can opener-for the future. A capsule program should have been developed parallell to the shuttle and have it come online when the shuttles were retired or at least fly alongside it till the glitches were ironed out. But Money rules and the Apollo type capsules were abandoned in favor of this STS..go figger
