IE: The 2002 national security strategy of the United States.
This was the origin point of the Bush Doctrine. It was a sweeping redefinition of self defense to include preemptive strike, announced a policy of 'opening societies', indicated that cause for war was simply 'that they don't like us much and are developing or are believed to be developing WMD', and opening nations to attack if terrorists are resideing in their borders (unclear if they even need be aware of the fact).
This 2002 document was widely read by anyone with the clue, it was discussed here, it was referred to as the 'Bush Doctrine' both by individuals within and without the whitehouse and was commonly understood to be a bold statement that redefined the rules of warfare for america and its foreign policy, for better or worse.
To sit around here saying "Wha? Huh? What Bush doctrine...." or, even better simultaneously saying: " which bush doctrine" (as if it both exists and does not exist at the same time), is the height of either ignorance or willful dishonesty. This was the document that formalized the actions in Afghanistan and laid out the justifications for the war in Iraq (though later spin would have us believe that it 'was never about WMD'!).
This re-writing of history to cover Palins ass is both dishonest and easily debunked, both with Google and with common knowledge of how our national disposition towards warfare markedly canged in 2002.

- I thought the Bush Doctrine was to make the oil company executives rich...
- Typical Krauthammering nitpick CYA maneuver.
- Odd that I, and most other observers, knew exactly what he was referring to....
- If you read Krauthammer regularly, you probably do believe Bush is a liberal. (n/t)
- "I've said Bush's foreign policy is liberal rather than conservative." So much for you. (n/t)
