Palin won as far as Conservatives are concerned. She stayed on message, didn't let the questions bother her. Even though she agreed to a "debate", early on she said she would address her topics and the hell with the Moderator's.
That for Conservatives is victory. For debaters that would count heavily against her.
She didn't wet herself or cry. A plus as far as Conservatives are concerned, expected for most people. Played to the camera, her strong, if not only, suit.
As far as dealing with issues, and having to waste a lot of time countering false statements by Palin, Biden came out ahead.
Froth to Palin, substance to Biden. Beauty contest to Palin, debate to Biden. No question about that.
Unfortunately, as pointed out by Socrates II, the average American voter often goes for froth and the average Conservative has been totally in love with by big government, bigger deficits and tax cuts. (Watch the actions, not the words.)
