Us conservative didn't like McCain a couple of years ago. I am guilty of saying on this very board that I didn't like him because he was going against the Bush Administration.
That's because you are a party hack.
:)
No doubt McCain says some pretty annoying things- like comparing ANWR to the Grand Canyon
For one thing, the Grand Canyon park is 4927 km2
ANWR: 80,000 km2- you could put 16 Grand Canyons into it.
The Grand Canyon has more than 3 million park visitors per year, does ANWR have 48 million park visitors per year?
Does it have a million? How about 10,000?
And if the Grand Canyon had oil reserves does that means that we shouldn't, under no circumstances, mine it?
Does that mean we also wouldn't build roads, visitor centers, hotels, ect in the Grand Canyon Park. Was this a mistake that we need to correct? Should we also be against any kind of mining or any kind of development near these parks?
I think the problem is we confusing parks with holy land- and the parks are holy lands for some people according to their vague religious beliefs
