The Rest of the World is reacting to the arrogance of the US during it's reign as the world's only superpower by creating a counterbalance and reviving a but warmer Cold War.

Libya is the latest to announce the use of it's territory for Russian military purposes. Other countrys actively courting Russian military activity include Venezuela, Cuba, and Columbia. The United States has meddled with each of those countries rather than engage them in mutually beneficial dialogue.

And I believe it will get worse. The US cannot fulfill it's NATO obligations in the event of problems. The US military is bogged down in two third-world countries. It's sophisticated weaponry at the mercy of poorly educated peasants with RPGs, it's leadership afraid to reinstitute the draft or raise taxes, America is like a starved wolf with two legs caught in traps.

There is a power vacuum in the world which Russia is willing to fill. China would, but China is growing so rapidly that she isn't interested. And I believe the next superpower struggle will be expensive, non-productive and have some disastrous unintended consequences.

And it's been created by Bush's arrogance.
