"- - - the comparisons you draw are more than just a stretch."

The plural is yours. "Comparisons". And the word "delusional" was your's, too, and you've failed to make any case for delusion. Unless, of course, you would say confusing a woeful disregard for human rights as imperialism is delusional. But I'm sure you were referring to me, and didn't mean to describe yourself.

China's record re human rights is abysmal, right next to Hitlers, Stalins, Japans, Israels, Americas, Spains, most other Asians, and so on. (Americans want to forget Native Americans. Democrats can read "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee", conservatives don't read history in my experience.)

I believe "imperialism" was the issue, though. The world community ceded Tibet to China a long time ago, Taiwan not that long ago and Outer Mongolia is independent.

Where is the "imperialism" in exercising dominion over one's own land?

Please don't misunderstand. China's method of doing this is reprehensible, inexcusable and prevents her from being considered a responsible member of the world community. As are current actions of countries and allies closer to home.
