Frequently, within my weekly subscription to Newsweek, one featured writer (Lisa Miller) irks me with her article entitled "Belief Watch". This week however I was pleasantly surprised.

I've seen Ms. Miller do absurd articles that deal with faith in America such as her recent one highlighting the idea some fundamentalists have that Obama is the Anti-Christ. She has dissed atheists and non-believers and has elevated absurd preachers and charismatic religious leaders to acceptability.

However, this week she nails it with the featured article titled "The Religious Case For Gay Marriage" where she basically dissects the argument that the Bible is against it and finds compelling evidence and citations that show that the reported teachings of Jesus and the societal norms of the time really say nothing about gay marriage and in fact show evidence it should be tolerated and even embraced. The oft cited passages in Leviticus are contrasted with other sections of that book that bring up customs and atrocities that society has clearly rejected.
