You keep saying this, and keep ignoring exactly how those wars were won. Hint: We didn't get the Axis powers to the surrender table by building new schools in Tokyo and Berlin.

Did you notice that Johnson refused to run for president because of Vietnam, that the Democrats were commited to ending that war, that Nixon was the guy who kept it going?
