When I reply to him, I have no illusion that I'll break through his closed brain. The purpose of my continued assaults on him is that it's evident that when people lay off of him, he somehow miraculously regains credibility with some of our posters that really don't do their own homework, that come here for their political information.

He's very good at pretending to be "one of us" with his humorous posts on Off-Topic and Space but I really think it's all part of the game with him. Nothing else explains the two different Tom's we see, the different ways he treats people based on whether he views them as a potential convert or someone who can expose his fallacies. His outrage over liberal and centrists positions doesn't square at all with his lack of outrage over clear corruption and abuse by his own party. It all fits with someone here not for the community but to evangelize his philosophy. We all of course tout our own positions on here. The difference is the willing to compromise. He has no clue as to how to do it or the alternative is he does but is too much of an asshole to use that talent.

Tom to me will forever be no more than the Jehovah's Witness at the door that just won't stop coming.
