Without the self instinct one is completely at the whims of one's environment. Imagine a world of floating jetsam flowing only with the external currents. They have no control over what happens to them and take no role in the greater universe.

Selfishness is necessary to control direction. Selfishness is the way the universe teaches each component to grow and evolve. A plant is completely selfish. Its structure is totally concerned with its preservation and growth. Animals are also completely selfish - seeking survival above all. Even the instinct to preserve their young and nurture them is a form of selfishness.

To be quite honest not a single person on Earth knows what selflessness really is.

Oh, they may tell themselves they care for others and donate time, money and effort to charities and various causes, but this is STILL selfishness at work.

The need to be selfless is ,in itself a form of selfishness. The personal need to embrace others needs is selfishness at work.

The universe is a very selfish place. It is simultaneously infinite and infinitely diverse - diversity requires selfishness.

Think about that for awhile. No, not just a moment...think hard and long on it.

Diversity mandates selfishness.

True selflessness is only achieved by those who can understand the need for selfishness in a state of balance with their environment. Selflessness is the achievement of those who can simultaneously pursue their own selfish interests in a balanced state of understanding with their environment.

The needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many for the many is simply a conglomeration of ones.

All those who interfere in the lives of others and think they are helping them, will learn the negative side of interference. Interference stifles growth. If a component of the universe is completely carried by another it loses its identity. Remember the mandate: Diversity mandates selfishness.

Bowser posting his rants against conservatives is innately selfish. He is fulfilling his personal need to denigrate others and elevate himself. However such is perfect for his own personal place in evolutionary scheme. Selfishness is the tool for growth. I am being selfish in sharing a much deeper understanding of selfishness... for I am selfish enough to want the universe to become ever more intelligent, creating a better environment for me and others to exist in. An infinite universe needs to fulfill its mandates.

There is no act that any sentient lifeform performs in the universe that is truly selfless.

And as you now hopefully understand...

Selfishness is good.
