Sorry, but technological change is happening so rapidly(exponentially) now. We have entered an era of self-evolution which will change our basic nature radically within a very short time (1000? years). Just from a quick scan most of what they are projecting in the future takes current issues and projects them forward. I really think the appropriate analogy that we are Neanderthal thinking about modern humans. In a 100000 years whatever beings inhabit here will be like gods to us, with a completely different perspective and issues, just as we would be gods to Neanderthal with completely different perspective and issues.
When we think what has happnened in just the last 100 years, how can we even project 500 years into the future much less 100,000. To me this is silly and arrogant or just plain stupid when the agenda is to say we must prevent global warming or some such current issue. We have utilized such a miniscule percentage of resource on earth so far, and we have not yet unleashed the leveraging power of replicating machines. That kind of leveraging could create a world we do not recognize.
Just my 2 cents.
