Mars Society

I've been asked to become secretary of the reborn Mars Society Belgium.

A friend who took part to MRDS several years ago told us this: Mars Society members are not supposed to encourage missions to the Moon before missions to Mars.....Is that true and part of the rules the Mars Society international affiliates are supposed to follow?
Or are we free to express any opinion concerning the matter?
