On the one hand you have no problem with their pay and on the other hand you do. I'm saying the sharp rise from historical norms, the numerous recent corporate scandals, and huge bonuses for poor performance show it's not market forces that are the chief driver of executive pay. It is clearly a case of concentrated power corrupting teh system and in the face of that the only alternative is to step in with some form of regulation.
I'm not clear why so many people have trouble understanding that the basic principle of capitalism of pay for performance is being severely underminded. If it's not please explain to me what increasing metric these CEOs are meeting to warrant huge increases in pay.
Do you people not realize that there is a cosey club of people setting on multiple coporate boards setting each other's pay? It's as simple as you scratch my back I'll scratch yours. These boards are not primarily a collecton of past employees of the company who understand how it works and what has made it successful in the past.

Mark
