You're right

IMO human spaceflight is the financial burden of a science fiction-fantasy foisted upon us by an older generation. Astronauts maintaining a big hunk of machinery orbiting the earth is fine if, in turn, the machinery was achieving something. But it's not. It should be de-orbited if it cannot be used for something productive.

My god. The COST. How many telescopes could have been launched instead? How many NEO tracking systems? How many rovers?
