Dr Chagnon's book was on my required undergraduate reading list forty years ago, and it truly changed my life. For the better, I might add.
For one thing, it taught me there is no mythical Eden in our past we should feel nostalgic for. And it also taught me that the demons of that past will never truly leave us.
