Napoleon Chagnon is an anthropologist who spent considerable time with the Yanomamo tribes in South America and published a book about his time spent there in 1968. ER was not so subtly suggesting that Mr. Chagnon was the Father of the woman mentioned above.
Just our typically crass ER ruining the romantic mood, defaming a fine anthropologist, and being...well...ER.
(It's understandable - he's one of the guys walking in the dark cloud ;-)
