Would anyone like to comment on "To The Idiots Eating Matzoh"?
Symbolic actions have value to the people who make them. For some, it reminds us of what we have. For others it reminds us of the cost of what we have. For yet others, it reminds us of what we stand to lose.
The people participating in Earth Hour are connecting to a cause greater than themselves.
Attack the cause if you wish. You have before, and you will again, supported by the belief of an earlier flock of sheep: "God gave Man dominion over the Earth". Attack participants in a symbolic group action, and you lose the authority to criticize someone who remains seated and talks through the Pledge of Allegiance, loudly. It's just another idiotic symbolic group action, after all.
