Careful, Techy. I actually get paid real money by real editors for the stuff I write, because real readers are willing to pay to read it. And it's not Winger Fiction or blogoglossolalia, either.
As for the letter, it actually was originally personal correspondence composed for a dear friend, which I edited only to remove typos and identifying personal references. Yes, my friends occasionally get to read my writing without having to pay for it, and if I think they'll appreciate it, I even take my time writing it.
