There's an overriding principle involved here.

Though you may think this is only about politics, there's more at stake.

We tell the world that we are the beacon of freedom. Just saying so doesn't do it. We have to act as if we are.

Shall we shrink from the truth of our actions like cowards, or bring our crimes out into the open and ask forgiveness?
