It wasn't the question, or even the answer. Its not like I've never disagreed with anyone before. It's this arrogance that anyone who doesn't agree with you must be ignoring the evidence or refusing to accept an obvious truth.
The idea that you represent a controversial, even a minority point of view and that many reasonable thinkers may honestly disagree with you doesn't seem to cross your mind. The concept of varying, yet valid interpretations of the same facts is mere intellectually dishonesty to you. You've got your evidence, you've seen the light, they're wrong. Period.
And even when your opponent tires of the struggle and attempts to offer you an out and gracefully withdraw, you sense weakness and seize it as an admission of defeat, or worse, intellectual cowardice. It's anomalist reasoning, conspiracy theory thinking, creationist tactics, and I refuse to be subjected to it any more.
"You refuse to look at the evidence because you do not accept it." You only exhibit this arrogant certainty in political issues, or issues you can twist into political issues like climate change. Even others here who share your views don't rely on this tactic. It is what infuriates everyone here who tries to reason with you, and I will not discuss anything political with you any more.
