I believe most questions have answers out there, and that sufficient work can often uncover them. You are well-aware of my stubborness, but don't seem to notice the dogmatism here that treats anything that runs counter to certain ideas as a symptom of some kind of mental problem.
On climate issues (for example) I am skeptical of the conventional wisdom, and have brought more hard data to the table than almost anyone else here. For this, I'm put in the same category as someone who believes the Earth is flat. Is that what you call "reasonable thinking?"
In general, there is a huge resistance here to anything other than simple opinions. Things seem to run more smoothly when it's all on the level of a sports bar conversation. Certainly it's easier on the brain. Maybe I take the current path of this country and the West in general too seriously.
As for "arrogance," I have often retracted my position based on new information posted here or more study on my own. There's an example that still hasn't even scrolled off this page. How often have you seen that?
