Remember Tom, there are a number of us with a "D" in front of our party registration that have never been thrilled with "Impeachment is not an option" Pelosi. Just what advantage do you think you'd gain if she gave up her seat? Her district is solidly Democratic and there were people in the wings that were a whole lot more rabid than she was in the last election. Can you say Cindy Sheehan?

Think for a second about who the Dems might elevate to speaker if she were to leave. Would you be happy with a bulldog like Henry Waxman?

I think you and the other neocons have this delusion that it will be the unraveling of Democratic power if you can topple the queen of cosmetic surgery. There's a lot of us that would love to see a purge of exactly her type of politician replaced with true Progressives that have a set of cajones. Harry "Mormon idiot" Reid can accompany her out the door.

Lastly, and I have to bite my tongue to say this, on this issue I think she's basically telling the truth and is throttled right now not because she's caught in a falsehood but because it's a big distraction to the really important issues. The CIA greatly misrepresented their case to members of Congress. It's probably splitting hairs as to whether to call it an outright lie or not but it's what the CIA has done throughout history. You and your propagandists know this as well and for you it's nothing more than this shiny object you can hold up to divert attention from the real criminal acts of the former administration. Cheney is about one slipped message away from getting his ass sent off to prison. Gonzales is probably shitting bricks and Bush, well my guess is nobody cares about that moron anymore. They figure his obscurity picking up his dog shit and his destroyed legacy is probably punishment enough.
