and they said it was the best speech they've ever heard from a non-Muslim leader.

That's exactly why Osama bin Laden is so pissed off at Obama now, and attacking him over the Pakistani offensive against the Taliban. It's because for the first time in a long while, America may be starting to win the propaganda war, the fight for hearts and minds, in the Muslim world, and Al Queda may be losing support among Muslims.
