Chauvinism

We clearly have different views of human nature, and I must say that the objectivity of yours is more than a little suspect.

What you're saying is Americans are inherently superior to everyone else in the world, because while Americans would never knuckle under to a tyranny imposed and maintained because it's "feared and obeyed", such a thing is quite conceivable everywhere else.

What a bunch of chauvinistic and borderline racist crap. (You did, after all, enumerate people with "yellow" and "brown" skin, along with those pasty-faced Russians; 2/3 non-white people, the other third an ancient enemy; nice strawman construction.) I'd say that realworld experience with attempts to impose new regimes from outside strongly suggests that it's nowhere near as easy as you'd like to imagine. Take Iraq, for example...please.

But thanks for the little laugh I got reading your rant about how "some people don't have a middle ground"...the humor hardly needs explaining, does it?

It all boils down to a different view of human nature, and the degree of optimism or pessimism about whether tomorrow is doomed to be a replay of today. I don't think so, I think it's possible to make some progress through the agressive pursuit of peace, even if it doesn't produce the instant gratification of massive blood and gore. Peace usually takes a little longer, but it's generally worth the wait.
