I'd be interested in knowing what "Christ died for your sins" means.

I know what it means to me, that Christ was symbolic of Man's ego, and "dying" is getting rid of Original Sin, which was the knowledge of good and evil. Ego. However, Christian religions are all wrapped up in good and evil, seem to worship the fruit of Original Sin. Go figure.

I don't know what it means to conventional Christians, though. I have a hard time believing most people have committed capital crimes, ie deserve the death penalty. And criminals, for whom Christ presumably died also, are put to death anyway, in spite of Christ having already been punished long before the sin was committed.

If there are any Christian apologists out there who can explain these things I promise to read them carefully. Very carefully.
