Ron McNair

I went to Elementary School in the 1970’s in Houston. Our school was equally mixed between whites, blacks and Jewish kids. We were all friends and never saw race. I think most little kids are like that. Why do we change?

I have had friends who were black my whole life. In college, one of my closest and most trusted friends was black. Today, I have two close friends who are black. I don’t see race when I look at them. They are just my friends. I also have friends who are Hispanic and Oriental.

Houston is a very racial diverse city.

I remember Ron McNair.

In April of 1986, Jean Michel Jarre did a show called RENDEZ-VOUS HOUSTON. It was a great show. It was huge. A big part of the show was a tribute to Jean’s friend Ron McNair.
