Your analysis is spot on, and it depresses the hell out of me. I also have to deal with the guilt and the conflict that I LIKE guns, I am a firearms enthusiast/hobbyist and I also am not immune to the fantasy that I too, can now protect my family and property from criminals. And believe me, that is NOT an idle threat. Crime and violence do occur alarmingly frequently in the USA, although I must confess I have never been a victim myself.
Like I said, your analysis is right on target. I just don't want to talk about it any more. Those pictures of little dead kids and their grieving families break my heart, and makes me just want to punish the bastards responsible for all this. And I don't like catching myself thinking that way.
