Yes, but unlike a forum post, when it is edited, the name on the blog post becomes the name of the editor. If so much as a punctuation is changed, the name changes and it becomes obvious that someone has alter the original post.
If Tom had repaired the link as he considered doing, the entire post would have been credited to him.
